Businesses to postpone Windows 7 adoption

Poll finds that three quarters are likely to stick with Windows XP for another year

A survey of 1100 businesses by Kace has found that 84 per cent of respondents will not be converting their systems to Windows 7 for at least a year.

Furthermore, when the time comes to change, three quarters of those surveyed will move directly from XP to Windows 7 – bypassing Vista entirely.

The Register reports that the reason behind the delayed adoption is due to concerns over compatibility and the cost of retraining staff.

Additionally, the survey found that Macs are taking a greater share, now claiming over ten per cent of the business IT market due to a surge of IT graduates using Apple systems.
