Consumers spent £25bn on technology in 2007
UK consumers spent $44.3bn (£25bn) on gadgets last year, according to the latest figures from market research firm Euromonitor, with the country coming only second to the US worldwide.
US consumers, by comparison, spent a staggering $162bn (£91.6bn) during 2007. The third largest market, Germany, spent $30bn (£17bn), while France and Russia spent $27.1bn (£15.3bn) and $24.5bn (£13.9bn) respectively.
The figures, however, do not take into account what gadgets people spent their money on, though it was stated that the figures do not take into account sales of mobile phones.
