Apple slashes MacBook Air price tag

Firm’s thinnest and lightest notebook reduced by $500
Apple has reduced the price of the top-end MacBook Air by $500, bringing it down to $2,598.
In the UK this equates to a new price tag of around £1719.
Apparently, the drop is a result of the $100 reduction in price of the 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors and a $400 reduction of 64 GB solid state drives.
