Vendors predicting year-on-year growth for their motherboard divisions
Gigabyte and Asustek have said that they expect shipments of motherboards to see year-on-year growth. That's according to a report in the Chinese language newspaper Apple Daily, which cited sources at the companies.
Gigabyte admitted that it is likely to see a fall in the amount of motherboards it ships in Europe due to a fall in demand. The firm is still confident though that it can ship 5.2-5.3 million units – an increase of 40 per cent on the same time last year.
Asustek is also predicting a jump of ten to 15 per cent compared to the same time last year, bringing its total shipments to around 5.5 million units.
