Traders hint at takeover bid as Microsoft buys more shares in the peripherals firm
Speculation regarding a Microsoft takeover of Swiss-based peripherals firm Logitech has grown amongst traders, as the industry spanning giant increased its shares in the company to 12 per cent.
According to Reuters, rumours are circulating that Microsoft will launch a takeover bid for Logitech at 48 Francs ($43) per share, representing a premium of 38 per cent.
Such a move would leave Microsoft the largest peripherals manufacturer in the world.
Logitech – which is estimated to be worth 9.16 billion Francs ($8 billion) according to Wednesday's closing share price of 34.8 Francs ($32) – is due to report its fiscal third-quarter results on January 17th.

This will be riding ot the back of how I bought a wireless keyboard n mouse from logitech. Just over 12 month ago. Then microsoft launched Vista and due to unforseen compatability issues, my logitech mouse is not compatible with Vista. Or Microsoft. So there.
Logitech sucks. Mircosoft (steve Barmy) rules.
OK.
And to think that I endure this **** for 1% and less eroded profit margin.

Small idea......why not try another manufacturer instead? Although Logitech and Microsoft are the most prominent peripheral manufacturers on the market, they're very much a 'me too' product for retailers and so the margins disappear, making it not profitable to sell. Although they sell in large volumes and are pushed by their marketing departmentsthey're not the only products pout there......have a look at Cherry instead???
