Department store chain sees sales grow as it bucks the general High Street trend
John Lewis has reported growth exceeding its competitors, following a successful Christmas trading period.
The department store chain bucked the general trend seen on the UK High Street this Christmas, announcing a rise of eight per cent in its trading figures year on year.
It added that the January sales period had gotten off to "a fabulous start," and said that it expected sales to continue at a similar pace.
The news was in stark contrast to the news from DSGi, which announced a profit warning last week.Department store chain sees sales grow as it bucks the general High Street trend

I'm not surprised John Lewis has done well from computer and technology sales. Whenever I've been in their tech departments, the computer section especially, I've felt comfortable and thought to myself, "If I do buy a machine, I would want to buy it from here". I can't really say why, it may the way they present the products and the general ambience.
