Deal could see UK vendor liquidated or dissolved before year-end
Creditors caught up in the collapse of British computer maker Evesham Technology have accepted DTE Leonard Curtis' suggestion to put the company into administration.
The decision, which was reached at a creditors meeting last month according to records filed at Companies House, will see the DTE Leonard Curtis continue to manage the business "with a view to achieving the statutory purposes of the administration."
The administrators said that they would, if appropriate, move the company into creditor voluntary liquidation. However, they stated that if there was no money to be distributed amongst the creditors, the company would be dissolved.
They did offer some comfort to secured creditors from within the UK channel, saying that the company may be placed into compulsory liquidation: "in circumstances where assets are still be to be realised yet there will be no return to unsecured creditors."
PC Retail, last month, reported that the company's debts had reached £6.8 million; over £1 million of which was attributed to various channel partners.
According to JM Titley, joint administrator with DTE Leonard Curtis, the most likely fate for the company would be to move into voluntary liquidation on completion on the administration process.

Hey bad news they sold excellent computers and great aftersales. Would like to know when and where the liquidation sale takes place. What a bargain buy that would be.
Thanks guys.

Hi
Sorry to hear that Evesham has come to this as I know a lot of people brought thir computers from Evesham. I also would like to know when or if they will have liquidation sale taking place.

A number of workmates bought computers from Evesham under the Government scheme to bring computersto the masses. Problem is in May 2008 many will be 2 years old and covered by a 3 year guarantee but a number were returned to Evesham for repair and the owners are still paying for computers they do not have and they cannot even get them back from Evesham. What should they do?

I bought an Evesham computer and 3 years warranty about six months ago. What happens when it needs repair (as they always do)? I paid by credit card, do I have any come back at all?

If a company goes bankrupt and you have a warranty with them then you become a creditor to that company.. so no.. you won't get any warranty cover. that's the joy of limited liability, once a company declares bankruptcy and has it's assets liquidated no one has any further obligations except the liquidator

Evesham accepted my laptop for repair under warranty in December, whilst under Administration. It is still waiting for parts. Last week there appears to have been some deal done but I am now being passed backwards and forwards between 2 parties - Geemore, who are holding it, and Total Care Services who are providing some ongoing (labour only) warranties for a fee. Does anyone know what my rights are given that my laptop was accepted post administration?

If you have a warranty purchased at the same time as the product, by credit card or 'computer' finance should be covered by section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, under the terms of 'Equal Liability'.
People should check this route before paying for or considering extra services, from anyone because some independent company suggest that you do so, in the first instant.

Glad to see I am not the only one. Two of my Evesham computers bought in March 07 have had motherboard failures.. Both under 3 year warrantys, one just got in before their end of January cut off and I haven't seen it since. All calls to Evesham and Total Care have been responded to with unsympathetic and offensive answers - "We don't care" and "We have no obligation" are two of the answers I got! Where's my F***ing computer?!
