Dell scraps LCD TV division

The computing giant is planning to focus on its core business
Dell has announced that is to stop trading LCD televisions in order to focus on its computing business, reported Daily Tech.
According to top executives, the company will end productions of LCD televisions by the end of this June.
The firm began selling LCD televisions in 2003, as part of its effort to become a wider consumer electronic firm and not simply a PC vendor.
Dell has gone through a number of cut backs since founder Michael Dell re-took the reigns – contrasting with the expansive business model typified by former CEO Kevin Rollins, who some claim left holes in the firm’s core business which resulted in it loosing the number one PC vendor position to HP.
