Buyers line up for Saitek

Report claims peripheral manufacturer has already received a number of bids

PC Retail's sister site MCV reports that The Guardian on Saturday claimed that Saitek has appointed an adviser to oversee a potential sale. The firm revealed that it had received a number of unsolicited inquiries from would-be buyers, and decided to make the sale official.

The report suggests that the asking price will be in the region of £25m, although that could rise if potential suitors want to buy up the firm’s existing distribution deals, which include agreements with Wal-Mart, BestBuy and DSG, owner of Currys and PC World.

“This is an exciting time,” said Saitek chief strategy officer David Inwood. “The Saitek brand has international resonance.”
